McDonald’s Launches Protein Plus Burgers Exclusively on Swiggy

McDonald’s India has teamed up with Swiggy to introduce the new Protein Plus range of burgers, available exclusively through the Swiggy app from July 24 to August 11, 2025. The collaboration brings a fresh offering to health-conscious consumers, with the burgers available under the ‘High Protein’ section of the app. This launch spans across 58 cities in Western and Southern India, including key locations like Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Vizag, Surat, and Mysore.

A Step Towards Healthier, Protein-Rich Options

As part of its Real Food Real Good initiative, McDonald’s has developed the Protein Plus range in collaboration with the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI). This new range enhances existing vegetarian and non-vegetarian burger options by adding a protein slice, increasing the protein content while maintaining the original taste. The Protein Plus slice is made from a blend of soya and pea protein, providing an additional 5 grams of protein per slice, with no artificial flavors or colours. Each slice adds only 34 kcal to the burger, ensuring that customers can enjoy their meals without compromising on health goals.

The Protein Plus range includes some of McDonald’s most popular items such as the McSpicy Premium Veg, McVeggie, McSpicy Paneer, McSpicy Premium Chicken, McChicken, and Masala McEgg burgers. This new offering caters to a growing demand for healthier, protein-packed meals, making it easy for consumers to enjoy their favorite McDonald’s burgers while increasing their protein intake.

Nutritious Multi-Millet Buns for Healthier Eating

Along with the Protein Plus burgers, McDonald’s India is also introducing Multi-Millet Buns in collaboration with CFTRI. These buns are enriched with the goodness of five nutrient-dense millets, providing essential vitamins, minerals, and natural dietary fiber. Some of the popular burgers now available with the millet bun option include the McAloo Tikki Burger, McChicken Burger, McVeggie Burger, McSpicy Chicken Burger, McCrispy Chicken Burger, and the Crispy Veggie Burger. The millet buns offer a healthier alternative to traditional burger buns, providing additional nutritional benefits without compromising on taste.

Swiggy’s Role in Promoting Healthy Eating

Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer of Swiggy Food Marketplace, expressed excitement about the exclusive launch on Swiggy’s platform. He said, “We are proud to be the exclusive platform for McDonald’s Protein Plus and Millet Bun range online. As consumers are becoming more conscious of their protein intake, this new range is a great way to enjoy a familiar favorite while increasing protein consumption.” Bhakoo emphasized that this is just the beginning and that Swiggy will continue partnering with McDonald’s in the future to launch more high-protein products tailored for the Indian consumer.

Earlier this month, Swiggy introduced a dedicated ‘High Protein’ category on the app, aiming to make it easier for users to discover and integrate protein-rich meals into their daily eating habits.

A Healthier, Tastier Future

With the launch of the Protein Plus burgers and the addition of multi-millet buns, McDonald’s India is leading the charge in offering healthier yet delicious alternatives for its customers. This collaboration with Swiggy not only makes protein-rich meals more accessible but also reflects the evolving preferences of consumers who seek balance between taste and nutrition.

Whether you’re a health-conscious eater or a fan of McDonald’s classic burgers, the Protein Plus range offers a tasty and nutritious solution to meet your dietary goals.
