Johnson’s Baby Launches New Campaign Supporting Lifesaving Newborn Care Initiative

01 · Johnson’s Baby strengthens commitment to neonatal resuscitation training
Johnson’s Baby has launched a new awareness campaign that supports its long running initiative focused on neonatal resuscitation training for healthcare professionals. The brand aims to reduce neonatal mortality linked to birth asphyxia, a leading cause of newborn deaths in India. By supporting a paediatric association for more than sixteen years, Johnson’s Baby has helped train over two lakh nurses, midwives and paediatricians to manage neonatal emergencies effectively.
The initiative promotes standardised neonatal resuscitation and equips healthcare workers to take the right actions in a baby’s first minute of life.
02 · Leadership emphasises the importance of lifesaving first minute care
Manoj Gadgil shares that the survival of a newborn depends on timely and accurate interventions at birth. However, many healthcare workers lack access to the training and resources required to provide these critical interventions.
He adds that Johnson’s Baby remains committed to protecting babies from their very first moment. This commitment extends beyond product quality and includes long term partnerships with organisations working to improve neonatal care. Having trained over 2 lakh healthcare professionals, Johnson’s Baby reinforces its promise to protect newborns from their first breath.
03 · New digital film brings emotional depth to the campaign
To spread awareness, Johnson’s Baby has released a digital film conceptualised by DDB Mudra. Set inside a small hospital, the film portrays a newborn struggling to breathe, prompting a trained healthcare worker to initiate resuscitation steps. This moment reflects the real urgency of neonatal care and the impact of proper training.
The film uses a recreated version of the traditional Sohar cradle song to amplify emotion and cultural resonance. This musical element strengthens the storytelling while honouring the protective love that surrounds every newborn.
04 · Creative team highlights the emotional power behind the narrative
DDB Mudra executive creative directors Siddhesh Khatavkar and Harshada Menon say the campaign honours a baby’s first cry, a moment of joy for every mother. They explain that the initiative protects this moment by empowering doctors, nurses and midwives with lifesaving skills.
The team reimagined Sohar as a way to symbolise love, protection and the beginning of life. They emphasised that saving a newborn involves not only medical expertise but also compassion and emotional strength.
05 · ‘Pahila Saans’ song supports awareness and fundraising
Padma Shri awardee Malini Awasthi has recreated the traditional song as Pahila Saans, which will be available across streaming platforms. All proceeds will support the neonatal resuscitation initiative. Malini Awasthi says music can inspire action and connect hearts, and she sees it as a meaningful effort to prevent unnecessary loss of life.
06 · Campaign expands across digital, influencer and cinema touchpoints
Johnson’s Baby plans to amplify the message through influencer partnerships and cinema integrations. By expanding across multiple platforms, the brand hopes to increase awareness, encourage community support and strengthen its mission to protect newborns through skilled care.
