JSW MG Motor India Pitches Tomahawk EV via Pilot-Daughter Story
JSW MG Motor India's two-film Tomahawk EV campaign uses a pilot father and daughter to sell space, range and the credibility of a fighter-plane name.

JSW MG Motor India has put a father-daughter conversation at the centre of its launch campaign for the MG Hector Tomahawk EV. The two films, titled ‘Space’ and ‘Range’, use a pilot’s initial scepticism to demonstrate the electric SUV’s cabin, design and long-distance ability.
The narrative leans on the Tomahawk fighter aircraft flown by the Royal Air Force during World War II. A pilot father asks whether an electric SUV can live up to that name. His daughter responds by walking him through the vehicle, and his doubt becomes admiration. Humour and the family relationship keep the product demonstration from feeling like a catalogue.
01 · Two films, two proof points
- Space makes the case for the cabin: room, premium interiors, futuristic design and the SUV’s stance.
- Range argues for long journeys and the confidence to keep travelling.
Together, the films present the SUV as electric performance with comfort, practicality and a longer-travel ambition.
02 · Why the name matters
The Tomahawk is not just a badge. It carries performance and capability associations from a wartime aircraft. By making the pilot question the name, the campaign acknowledges the gap between heritage and an electric SUV, then closes it with product proof.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV brings together powerful electric performance, spacious and comfortable interiors, and the range to take on longer journeys with confidence.
Udit Malhotra, Head of Marketing, JSW MG Motor India, said the campaign was built to bring these capabilities to life in an engaging and relatable way while showing how the SUV delivers on its name. It reflects a focus on performance, comfort and practicality for daily driving and beyond.
The mechanic is useful beyond auto. Many brands borrow equity from aviation, military or sporting heritage. The risk is that the borrowed name outruns the product. MG’s answer is to make that gap the script: the father starts as the doubter, and the films give him evidence instead of adjectives.
03 · What marketers can take from it
For marketing teams, the campaign is a lean structure worth borrowing. It chooses two claims, not ten; it gives each claim its own film; and it lets the most resistant audience member become the convert. The result is a product demonstration carried by an emotional relationship rather than a feature reel.
The campaign is live on SonyLIV and JSW MG Motor India’s digital platforms.
Marketing take: when a name carries a legacy, the campaign’s job is to earn it.
