Crompton Pumps’ Fourth AI Film Ties Pumps to Puja
Crompton Pumps uses an AI-powered Durga Puja film to shift pumps from functional hardware to a trusted water partner across rituals.

Crompton Pumps has brought the water pump into the Durga Puja pandal with an AI-powered digital film that reframes smart water management as an everyday cultural enabler. The brand uses the festival’s ritual calendar, from Shashti to Dashmi, to show where water quietly does its work: cleaning courtyards, drawing alpana, preparing bhog, serving prasad and filling the ghot.
The campaign is the company’s fourth AI-driven festive film, and it centres on Crompton IntelliSense FLO, a wired water level controller that detects municipal water flow before it switches the pump on. Rather than lead with specifications, the film positions Crompton as a “paani ka Saathi”, a water companion through devotion and celebration.
01 · Why a pump brand is telling a festival story
Tanmay Prusty, CMO, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals, frames it as a perception problem. Pumps are typically treated as a functional, low-involvement purchase. The campaign is an attempt to make the brand feel connected to a moment when water is central to ritual. He calls Crompton “more than just a product provider” and points to the wider portfolio: residential, agricultural and specialty pumps, plus smart and connected control panels.
By mapping the film to Shashti through Dashmi, Crompton also solves a familiar category problem: low-involvement products rarely get considered before a need arises. Festivals force consideration because rituals cannot pause for a pump failure. Smart controls such as IntelliSense FLO make that promise tangible by acting only when municipal supply is detected, so water is available when the task demands it.
02 · AI as a repeatable storytelling engine
The film is the latest evidence that Crompton is treating AI not as a novelty but as a repeatable production approach for festive work. AI-powered visuals let the brand dramatise water’s role in a visually rich setting without physically building every pandal or ritual scene. This is the fourth time the brand has used the approach in a festive campaign, which suggests an emerging playbook rather than a one-off experiment.
For brand leaders, the useful frame is cultural selling: find the occasion where the product is already indispensable, then make the brand the quiet enabler. Crompton does not claim to create devotion; it claims to keep water available so the ritual goes on uninterrupted.
03 · What marketers can take from it
- Anchor a low-involvement product in a specific ritual where its absence would be noticed.
- Let the product remain an enabler; the festival is the hero.
- Use AI to scale culturally specific visuals when live production would be slow or costly.
- Repeat the formula before calling it a brand platform.
The film will run across Crompton’s digital and social channels through the festive period, and it closes with the brand promise “Trusted Performance, Har Din.” That is the real ask: a pump is not a once-a-year product, but the festival is the right moment to make people feel the brand’s role all year round.
