JW Marriott: 90% Book Luxury on Wellness
JW Marriott's Stay in the Moment film with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns presence into a luxury proposition, backed by a sharp APAC wellness stat.

JW Marriott has launched Stay in the Moment, a campaign film featuring global brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, shot at JW Marriott Juhu in Mumbai. The film opens with a question—”What makes a moment a moment?”—and answers it through wedding celebrations, shared meals, a raised toast and small discoveries, before landing on the idea that a moment becomes a moment only when you stay in it.
01 · A creative bet on presence
Rather than showcase rooms or amenities, the film positions the hotel as a setting for attention. It builds on the brand’s collaboration with Rai Bachchan announced in June and keeps the celebrity in an observational, experience-led role. The strategy ties back to JW Marriott’s long-standing promise of holistic well-being: helping guests feel present, nourished and revitalised.
02 · The stat that explains the strategy
Behind the warm scenes is a sharper commercial story. According to a 2025 study by The Luxury Group by Marriott International, 90% of affluent travellers in Asia-Pacific now cite wellness experiences as a key factor in booking decisions, up from 80% in the previous year.
That ten-point jump matters for brand leaders. Luxury travellers are asking for permission to slow down, reconnect and experience moments more deeply. In that framing, a hotel is no longer selling a bed; it is selling the conditions for presence.
This is not a hygiene factor anymore. For CMOs, the study changes the brief from advertising a suite to designing and dramatising moments of pause. Stay in the Moment works because it names a feeling the data already validates: presence as the scarce luxury.
03 · Why the local setting matters
The choice of JW Marriott Juhu as the setting also matters for Indian marketers. It lets the global campaign feel local, while Rai Bachchan’s presence gives it immediate recognition across the country. It also avoids treating a global ambassador as a distant figure. Rai Bachchan is shown within shared experiences, which is closer to how Indian consumers actually celebrate—in groups, with food and ritual.
04 · What marketers can borrow
- Use a philosophical question as the spine of the film, and let the payoff line close it.
- Pair an emotional story with a behavioural stat, so the work earns both love and budget.
- Cast a celebrity as a guest in ordinary moments, not as a presenter holding a product.
JW Marriott operates more than 130 hotels across 41 countries and territories, within Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of more than 30 brands. That makes the campaign a portfolio halo as much as a single-property push.
For Indian luxury marketers, the takeaway is portable: when attention is scarce, the most premium thing you can sell may be the moment itself.
