Dabur Chyawanprash makes a play for daily wellness, not winter
Dabur India and McCann India reposition Chyawanprash from a winter remedy to a daily wellness habit by visualising protection across body, organs and cells.

Dabur India is betting that the path to daily relevance for one of its most trusted Ayurvedic products leads inward. The company has launched a new film for Dabur Chyawanprash, titled Triple Action On. Rakhe Andar Se Strong, created with McCann India, that recasts the familiar spoonful as an everyday health habit rather than a winter stand-by.
01 · A repositioning built on layers
The campaign’s central device is a visual explanation of triple-action protection. Instead of telling consumers that the formulation works, the film shows it across three levels: body, organs and cells. That layered storytelling is the strategic engine of the work—it makes the internal, largely invisible benefits of an Ayurvedic formulation legible to a generation that is used to seeing data about its health.
Dabur’s challenge is familiar: the product has enormous recognition, but recognition alone does not drive daily consumption. By structuring the story in three layers, the film gives viewers a simple mental model for what the formulation is doing after it is swallowed.
02 · From seasonal ritual to daily routine
Dabur India director Sriram Padmanabhan framed the shift as a move from inherited knowledge to understood science. “We are showing the science behind that trust and giving consumers a reason to make Chyawanprash part of every day, not just winter,” he said.
“We built the film to remind them that the most important part of being healthy is the part nobody sees.” — Srijib Mallik, Managing Partner, McCann India
03 · Why invisible benefits are a marketing problem
Heritage wellness brands frequently enjoy high awareness but low daily frequency. Chyawanprash is known, trusted and present in many homes, yet its usage is often cued by season or sickness. The campaign targets health-conscious youth who track steps and sleep, addressing the gap between what they measure and the internal conditions they cannot see.
The trouble with invisible benefits is that they are easy to postpone. Seasonal products are consumed when the weather turns; daily products are consumed because the reason is always on. Dabur is trying to attach Chyawanprash to a permanent internal concern rather than a temporary external trigger.
For brand leaders, that means:
- Make the mechanism visible with simple, layered visuals instead of abstract claims.
- Tie the benefit to a concrete daily moment, not just an occasion.
- Speak to the metrics and rituals consumers already use to monitor health.
04 · What marketers can borrow
The strategic move is not simply a creative refresh. It is an attempt to expand Dabur Chyawanprash’s usage occasion from seasonal protection to daily maintenance. The lesson for challenger and legacy brands in wellness is that trust does not automatically convert to frequency; it has to be given a visible reason to sit in the morning routine.
Marketing take
Familiarity gets the brand into the home; visible science gets it onto the daily spoon.
