Malabar Gold's SWAYE: lightweight diamonds, up to 30% off

Malabar Gold & Diamonds has added a new argument to India’s diamond market with SWAYE, a natural diamond jewellery collection built around lightweight, spiral-inspired design. Fronted by actor and brand ambassador Alia Bhatt, the campaign is anchored in the thought ‘Diamonds That Move With You.’

The pitch is not the traditional locked-away asset. SWAYE pieces are meant to be layered, stacked and worn across work, social plans and special occasions—a positioning aimed squarely at women buying for daily self-expression.

01 · What the launch actually offers

Design details remain tight, but the collection’s main claims are clear: fluid spiral forms, reduced weight and styling flexibility. M. P. Ahammed, Chairman, Malabar Group, framed the collection around adaptability rather than ceremony.

“Today’s women seek jewellery that reflects their personal style and adapts to the many occasions that shape their lives.”

The brand says each piece is designed to move effortlessly with the wearer—a useful shorthand for marketing teams trying to shift diamond buying from milestone-only to everyday.

02 · The trust infrastructure

Malabar is pairing the creative idea with a trust-heavy retail story. Its Diamond Promises go beyond cut, colour, clarity and carat: every diamond is natural, responsibly sourced and selected from trusted miners, with in-house sorting, polishing, grading and assorting. Each piece of diamond jewellery passes 28 quality checks, and the company draws on its global design studios to develop the line.

  • 28 quality checks on each diamond jewellery piece
  • Responsibly sourced natural diamonds selected from trusted miners
  • BIS hallmarking with HUID for gold and testing-certification for diamond jewellery
  • Lifetime free maintenance and 100% value on gold and diamond exchanges

The Diwali calendar sharpens the offer: until November 15, 2026, customers can get up to 30% off on the diamond value of diamond jewellery purchases.

03 · Why this matters for CMOs

For jewellery marketers, SWAYE is a test of a wider shift: women are being addressed as everyday wearers, not just brides or gift recipients. A Bollywood ambassador, versatile product design and a finite discount create three layers—emotion, utility and urgency.

Alia Bhatt does more than add fame. The campaign uses her as a symbol of a woman navigating multiple roles, which mirrors the product’s claim of moving across occasions. That is a tighter ambassador-product fit than a simple celebrity endorsement.

The discount, though, is the one place to watch. Up to 30% off diamond value is a serious price signal in a category that has historically protected aspiration. If the creative story carries the launch, the offer looks like a seasonal conversion trigger; if the offer dominates, the brand risks trading a collection idea for a deal.

The take: sell jewellery the way women live—in layers, not lockers.
