Jackie Shroff

Actor Jackie Shroff has long been admired for his authentic, earthy persona and lifelong passion for plants. From attending events with a spider plant draped around his neck to tending his own organic farm, Shroff doesn’t just talk about green living—he embodies it. Recognizing this natural synergy, Ugaoo, India’s leading houseplants and urban gardening brand, has appointed Shroff as its first-ever brand ambassador.

01 · Jackie Shroff: The Perfect Fit for Ugaoo

Ugaoo CEO Siddhant Bhalinge says, “Jackie Shroff embodies our values of plant gifting and sustainability.” His influence in North and West India makes him ideal for promoting Ugaoo, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. For the festive season, Ugaoo will promote “green gifting” through hampers on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, MX Player, Hotstar, and outdoor media.

Influencers Drive Plant Parenting Trends

While Shroff strengthens Ugaoo’s cultural presence, digital creators have fueled the popularity of plant gifting. Short-form videos showing plants styled at home or given as gifts have removed the intimidation factor for new buyers. Ugaoo complements this trend with its blog of over 5,000 articles and social media content offering care tips, helping consumers confidently embrace plant parenting.

A Campaign that Connects Emotionally

Thought Over Design conceptualized Ugaoo’s campaign film featuring Shroff, with production by Cathect Studios. Set in a cozy living room, the film begins with a plant parent distressed over a wilted Alocasia. Jackie consoles her in his iconic style and orders a replacement from Ugaoo, promising a healthier plant. The film closes with the punchline: “Ugaoo, Bhidu, Ugaoo.”

02 · Expanding Offline: Experiential Stores and Quick Commerce

Ugaoo is rapidly growing its offline presence, expanding from three cities last year to 20 experiential stores by the end of this financial year, with plans for 100 stores by FY2030. These stores provide immersive experiences where customers can explore plant varieties, learn care tips, and interact with experts.

Quick commerce platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart address last-minute gifting needs, while D2C online channels serve variety seekers and repeat buyers. This multi-channel strategy positions Ugaoo as a trusted lifestyle brand for plants.

03 · Farm-to-Home Advantage

Unlike traditional nurseries, Ugaoo grows 2.5 lakh plants monthly at its 25-acre Pune farm, expected to rise to six lakh in a year. Regional hubs in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata ensure fresh, long-lasting plants with a 30-day replacement guarantee.

Plant Parenting The Future of Urban Living

With urbanization driving smaller living spaces, plants provide companionship, emotional connection, and wellness benefits. Ugaoo aims to educate Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities through vernacular content, stores, and affordable pricing. Serving 10 million customers, Ugaoo is expanding globally to Dubai and Singapore. With Jackie Shroff as its ambassador, Ugaoo blends authenticity, education, and emotional storytelling to inspire plant parents.
