Mantra Group signs Ranbir Kapoor to lead its next phase
Pune-based Mantra Group signs Ranbir Kapoor as brand ambassador as it expands into Mumbai, branded residences and hospitality.

Pune-based real estate developer Mantra Group has signed actor Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador, placing a Bollywood face at the centre of its transition from a Pune builder to a multi-market real estate group.
01 · From Pune roots to a group brand
Founded in Pune in 2007, Mantra has grown into a group with residential, commercial and retail interests. It has entered Mumbai with large-format projects, expanded internationally through branded residences with luxury label Jacob & Co., and is now moving into new micro-markets and categories such as hospitality.
The signing arrives with a broader consumer push. Kapoor will feature in a new brand film alongside Rohit Gupta, managing director of Mantra Group, and the association will sit inside the group’s ‘Festival of Choices’ campaign, which brings the portfolio under one umbrella.
02 · The strategy is the story
Gupta framed the appointment as a statement about brand evolution, not just celebrity reach. He said the brand needed a personality who could represent its current phase and pointed to parallels in the two journeys, including starting out in the same year and building identity over time.
Kapoor echoed the idea. ‘Mantra has strong roots, but it is also looking ahead and creating its own space,’ he said. ‘I am happy to be part of this next chapter.’
03 · Why this matters for brand leaders
Indian real estate has traditionally marketed projects, not the parent company. A celebrity usually promoted a specific tower; the group name was often secondary. Mantra is using Kapoor differently: as a unifying face across residential, commercial, retail and upcoming hospitality plays.
That makes the appointment a brand-architecture decision as much as an advertising one. A useful check for any marketer is whether the ambassador does three jobs:
- Makes the company’s evolution legible to buyers.
- Gives a portfolio campaign one consistent face.
- Connects local trust with premium ambition without sounding like a hard sell.
04 · Watch ‘The Festival of Choices’
The campaign will be the real test. Star power can buy attention, but only disciplined positioning can build group-level trust. Marketers should watch whether Mantra’s projects begin to share a clear identity, whether the 2007 origin story is used consistently, and whether Kapoor adds a reason to believe rather than just recognition.
For brand leaders, the one-line take is this: a celebrity signing in a trust-heavy category earns its fee only when it signals a strategic shift, not just a media buy.
