Ethnix by Raymond rolls a real wedding through Gurgaon
Ethnix by Raymond takes an actual wedding to Gurgaon's streets on a moving float, with a live band, baraat and a route built for footfall.

Ethnix by Raymond is rolling a live Indian wedding through Gurgaon in a campaign called Mandap on Wheels. The ethnic-wear label from Raymond Lifestyle Limited is putting a fully decorated mandap, a live band and a wedding party on a moving float that will travel through key parts of the city for two to three hours.
01 · Not a staged show
The centrepiece is a real ceremony: a couple will actually get married on the float, not just pose as actors. That moves the activation from simulated baraat to genuine wedding, giving the brand a culturally familiar frame to interrupt ordinary commutes, busy roads and market areas.
02 · Why the route matters
Kalpana Singh, CMO of Raymond Lifestyle Limited, says the activation is designed to work on two levels. On the ground it buys “an unmissable share of attention” at the moment wedding season opens; the route is chosen for footfall rather than convenience. On digital, every stretch of the route is captured for owned and earned content, turning a few hours of street-level noise into a longer campaign tail.
Importantly, the route is designed to end close to Ethnix by Raymond’s Gurgaon retail presence. That suggests a simple marketing logic.
- Choose high-footfall streets, not easy ones.
- Build brand recall into the float, mandap, band and cast.
- Film the activation for owned and earned media.
- Finish near a store to convert attention into visits at the start of the wedding buying cycle.
03 · The wedding wardrobe angle
The timing matters because the groom’s wardrobe often extends beyond one outfit to multiple ceremonies: engagement, haldi, sangeet, wedding and reception. Ethnix by Raymond positions itself for this broader requirement with coordinated collections of sherwanis, bandhgalas, indo-westerns, kurtas and bundis, drawing on Jamawar, brocade, hand block print and placement embroidery.
Vivek Das, Chief Digital Officer at Madison Media, frames it as a move beyond conventional touchpoints. In a cluttered media landscape, brands need experiences people notice, engage with and remember; Mandap on Wheels uses the cultural pull of Indian weddings to make an everyday commute memorable and organically shareable.
The activation also signals a wider brand ambition. From its origins as a wedding-wear label, Ethnix by Raymond has expanded into broader Indian occasion-wear and has a presence on the national fashion stage, including a showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week in October 2026. Mandap on Wheels extends that positioning beyond retail and advertising into live, shareable street theatre.
04 · What brand leaders can use
For a CMO, the activation is essentially a high-attention pop-up with a built-in distribution strategy. The live baraat generates the unexpected; the camera turns it into content; the route converts attention into footfall. That is a three-step sequence: interrupt, capture, convert. It works only if each step is planned before the float moves.
The marketing take: make the celebration visible, make the route countable, and make the end of the experience a place where purchase can begin.
