After McDonald’s tested the waters with its Korean menu, Burger King India jumps on the Hallyu wave with a bold new offering. The popular QSR brand introduces a specially curated Korean-inspired menu, featuring loaded K-fries, vegetarian and non-vegetarian burgers, spicy chicken wings, and crunchy chicken nuggets. The brand crafted this menu—starting at ₹200—to attract both foodies and K-culture enthusiasts across the country.
To support this exciting launch, Burger King has rolled out a high-energy campaign, conceptualised and executed by Havas India. The campaign taps into the rising popularity of Korean food in India and aims to position Burger King as the go-to spot for global flavours with a local twist.
Riding the Korean Wave
The rise of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) has transformed global pop culture—from BTS and K-dramas to skincare routines and now, fast food. Indian consumers, especially millennials and Gen Z, are already immersed in Korean content. It’s only natural that their cravings extend to Korean cuisine too.
Korean flavours are quickly becoming mainstream in India. From spicy ramen challenges on social media to the growing number of Korean restaurants in metro cities, the demand is real—and brands are listening. Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) are now racing to bring Korean food to their menus.
KFC was among the first to experiment with this trend, having introduced Korean Chicken Wings years ago.
A Menu That Delivers the Heat
Burger King’s new Korean menu is designed to appeal to Indian palates, known for their love of bold, spicy, and garlicky flavours. Drawing inspiration from iconic Korean street food and snacks, the menu features:
K-Fries with spicy sauces and toppings
Veg and Chicken K-Burgers packed with flavourful sauces
Korean Chicken Wings that are crispy, juicy, and loaded with zing
K-style Chicken Nuggets for snack lovers
A Growing Appetite for Korean Flavours
K-inspired flavours are not new to the Indian market. From Maggi’s Korean-flavoured noodles launched two years ago to Lays’ international flavours featuring Korean-inspired chips, brands are experimenting and winning.
Indian consumers already embrace Indo-Chinese cuisine, which paves the way for an easier transition to Korean flavors. The bold spice, umami, and garlic-forward profiles of Korean dishes perfectly match Indian taste buds.
