WPP OpenDoor × Snapchat — ‘Sarfira’ AR Puts The Revolutionaries on Gen Z Lenses
Cast + Snapstars at Snap HQ Mumbai; custom AR Lens turns Prime Video’s period drama into a participatory ‘Sarfira’ moment.

Mumbai, September 2026: WPP OpenDoor, in partnership with Snapchat India, has wrapped a creator Watch Party for Prime Video’s historical series The Revolutionaries — and rolled a custom ‘Sarfira’ AR Lens that lets Gen Z users try on a modern-revolutionary look inspired by the show’s themes of rebellion and courage.
At Snap’s Mumbai HQ, cast members including Pratibha Ranta, Bhuvan Bam and Rohit Saraf (with creator collabs also citing Gurfateh Pirzada) walked Snapstars through director Nikkhil Advani’s vision and shared an exclusive first look at unseen footage. A dedicated Snapchat Experience Zone put the Lens in creators’ hands so social-first content could fire in real time around the premiere.
Amit Ojha, Head of Agency Business, Snapchat India, said: “Gen Z discovers entertainment differently today, they rely on the authentic voices of the creators they trust. Having the cast of ‘The Revolutionaries’ at our Mumbai office allowed us to bridge the gap between premium storytelling and our highly engaged Gen Z Creator community and an exciting showcase of how entertainment brands can collaborate with our creator ecosystem to turn a highly anticipated launch into a true social conversation.”
Deepa Jatkar, Lead India, WPP OpenDoor, said: “Today’s audiences don’t just want to consume stories, they want to live them. Through WPP OpenDoor, we brought the fearless spirit of The Revolutionaries to Snapchat in a way that feels native to how Gen Z expresses itself today. By combining AR innovation, creator collaboration, and immersive storytelling, we’ve turned a period drama into a participatory cultural moment, inviting a new generation to celebrate individuality, conviction, and rebellion.”
Marketing take
OpenDoor isn’t buying reach alone — it’s renting Snap’s creator grammar (Lens + Watch Party + Snapstars) so a historical IP behaves like a live social product. For streaming marketers, the playbook is clear: if the premiere can’t be worn, shared and remixed in-camera, Gen Z may just scroll past the trailer.
