Timex festive film tells hosts to stop prepping, start living

Timex India's new festive ad under Analog Life makes the watch an invitation to pause and join the celebration, not a product feature.

Timex sells presence, not watches

Timex India has launched a festive digital film called For the Moments Worth Celebrating, part of its Analog Life. Make Time Yours. platform. Rather than selling a new collection, the campaign sells a behaviour: stop running the occasion and actually experience it.

01 · The host who forgot to celebrate

The film follows a host buried in last-minute arrangements. He is answering phone calls, attending to guests and checking that everything is in place. A friend gifts him a Timex watch, and that small moment makes him pause. He puts the phone aside and steps into the gathering.

What follows is not a montage of watch close-ups. It is card games, Polaroid photographs, laughter and dancing. The watch works as a reminder that time is something to experience, not just something to measure.

02 · Beyond product features

Deepak Chhabra, managing director, Timex Group India Limited, said, “We see the festive season as an opportunity to strengthen Timex’s connection with consumers beyond the product itself.” The campaign extends the brand’s positioning into lifestyle and personal experience, and it leans into the festive gifting window.

03 · Why this matters for Indian CMOs

Festive advertising in India tends to fight for attention with discounts, celebrity faces and product shots. Timex is taking a quieter occasion-based route. The insight is that hosts often spend so much energy on preparation that they miss the moment. The watch becomes permission to leave the checklist.

The campaign does not name one specific festival, which lets it work across Diwali, weddings and year-end gatherings. That flexibility is useful for a brand platform: the same host problem appears in every Indian celebration.

For marketing teams, this is a reminder that a brand platform works harder than a one-off festive ad. Here are three ways to use the idea:

  • Find the unglamorous friction inside a ritual, such as the host stuck on logistics.
  • Use the product as a prompt to change behaviour, not as the hero of the frame.
  • Build the platform across occasions, so the same idea can return for gifting, weddings or year-end.

04 · The bigger bet

Timex is using ‘Analog Life. Make Time Yours.’ as a connecting idea rather than a campaign tagline. The festive film is one expression of it. If the platform stays consistent, the watch stops being a commodity and starts standing for the time people make for one another.
