Mumbai, September 2026: Spotify India has rolled out ‘Roz ke kaam fun banao, Spotify Chalao’, a new brand campaign that treats ironing, dishwashing and bulb-fixing as music moments — not background noise waiting for a weekend playlist.

The work lands as a series of eight films across five languagesHindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bhojpuri. Each spot puts a household chore under a song and lets the listener disappear into the rhythm while the onlooker looks confused. One film has a husband mistaking his wife’s “Aha!” for flattery until he realises she is singing into the ironing board. Another floods a sink with lather as a roommate scrubs to the beat — and somehow still finishes spotless.

Shipra Srivastava, Head of Marketing, Spotify India, framed the idea as everyday texture, not big-event spectacle: “There’s something universal about how music changes the texture of a moment. It doesn’t matter what language you speak or what chore you’re doing, when the right song comes on, the task feels different. Cleaning the home, ironing clothes, washing utensils, fixing a light bulb — for millions of listeners, these are already music moments. Our research backs this up — 98% of Indian users say Spotify is essential to their daily routine. This campaign is about that everyday relationship with music, and the joy it quietly adds to the routines we don’t think twice about.”

Spotify’s own India numbers sharpen the bet: 97% of users say the app makes mundane activities more enjoyable, 71% say they feel relaxed when using it, and the latest Loud & Clear report puts Indian-artist streams at nearly 335 billion in 2025 (over 20 billion hours). Language royalties are accelerating too — Telugu artists up over 120% year on year, Malayalam over 30%, Tamil 20%.

The campaign is rolling for about five weeks across TV, digital and social — a multilingual push that sells Spotify less as a chart app and more as the soundtrack already humming through India’s weekday chores.

Marketing take: Most streaming ads sell discovery or celebrity. Spotify is selling chore companionship — if ironing already has a chorus, the platform owns the most frequent music moment in the house.
