OpenAI’s Teachers’ Day Film Says “We Know” — ChatGPT for Teens Pushes Study Mode Over Homework Outsourcing

~ OpenAI’s Teachers’ Day film in India tells students “we know” — and pushes ChatGPT for Teens as a learning aid, not a homework ghostwriter ~

Mumbai, September 2026: Ahead of Teachers’ Day, OpenAI has dropped a short film in India that flips the usual AI-in-classrooms panic into a knowing wink. Teachers clock assignments that don’t sound like their students — and answer with a calm “we know.” The pitch is blunt: use ChatGPT to think through schoolwork, not to outsource it.

The film lands as OpenAI pushes ChatGPT for Teens (ages 13–17) with stronger default protections and learning-first features. At the centre is Study Mode, which walks students through problems with questions and step-by-step help rather than handing over finished answers. The package also flags Quizzes, Learning Visualizations and Responsible Homework Reminders meant to keep teens working the problem, not just pasting a solution.

Family controls meet the classroom punchline

Linked family setups get Study Hours (Study Mode on by default in chosen windows), Quiet Hours, break reminders and parent-managed settings — a product story that matches the film’s close: “Can you explain it?”, Why do you think that?” and “How did you get there?”

By tying a Teachers’ Day creative to Study Mode and teen guardrails, OpenAI is selling ChatGPT less as a cheat code and more as a tutor that still expects the student to show their working. The film is live on YouTube and Instagram.
