Instamart’s ‘Switch’ — Habit Shopping Gets a Friendly Nudge

~ A 25-year namkeen “anniversary” joke turns Instamart’s platform proposition into a simple ask: try something better, not just something familiar ~

Mumbai, September 2026: Instamart has launched ‘Switch’, a campaign built around its platform-wide push for shoppers to look past habitual picks and try differentiated products across everyday categories — framed as a small switch, not a lifestyle overhaul.

The film leans on a familiar Indian tea-time ritual, then flips it. A woman appears to reminisce about nearly 25 years of tea with her husband, until the camera lands on a heap of the same packaged namkeen she has been buying for years. An Instamart delivery partner clocks the pile and asks, “Whole life with the same snack only?” — then offers a palm-oil-free alternative as the gentle proof that habit, not preference, often runs the cart.

Mayur Hola, Head of Brand, Swiggy, said everyday choices are often inertia dressed up as loyalty: “A lot of our everyday choices are driven by habit. We buy the same things because we know them, not necessarily because we have stopped to consider whether there might be something better. With Switch, we wanted to take that very human behaviour and turn it into something simple, relatable and fun. The idea is not to tell consumers what to choose, but to encourage them to explore what else is out there. Sometimes, all it takes is a small switch to discover something better.”

The close lands on Instamart’s line “Better products at better prices,” tying the humour back to assortment discovery rather than a hard sell on any single SKU.

Marketing take: Quick commerce usually shouts speed. Instamart is selling curiosity at the doorstep — if the namkeen gag sticks, ‘Switch’ becomes less a campaign name and more a shopping reflex.
