~ HMIL names its next-gen intelligent SUV Hyundai BAYON; futuristic lab film builds the moniker piece by piece before the thought “Intelligence ON” ~
New Delhi, September 2026: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed the moniker of its upcoming intelligent SUV — Hyundai BAYON — framing the name reveal as the first chapter of a new product journey rather than a full unveil. Positioned as a new global SUV for an evolving India, BAYON is cast as the brand’s bet on intelligent mobility where innovation, expression and emotion meet with purpose.
Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL, said: “With Hyundai BAYON, we are introducing more than a new SUV. BAYON represents a new mindset – one that reflects our ambition to create experiences that are intelligent, intuitive and meaningful for our customers. At Hyundai, we believe that every new product is an opportunity to push ourselves further, guided by our passion for creating mobility experiences that enrich people’s lives. With BAYON, we have once again challenged ourselves to pursue perfection in the details that matter, while staying true to our belief that technology creates its greatest value when it becomes effortless and seamlessly integrated into our customers’ everyday lives. We look forward to sharing more about Hyundai BAYON with India in the coming weeks.”
Product specs, pricing and launch windows stay under wraps for now — HMIL says more on the intelligent SUV will follow in the coming weeks. For marketers, the move is classic pre-launch theatre: lock the name, seed a tech-forward story world, and keep the metal for later chapters.
Marketing take: Hyundai isn’t selling horsepower yet — it’s selling a mindset. A lab-born moniker film that ends on “Intelligence ON” turns a name drop into a brand promise before the SUV even rolls out.
The accompanying name-reveal film leans into a next-generation lab aesthetic: intelligent elements assemble, piece by piece, until they form the word BAYON, then land on a simple closing thought — “Intelligence ON.” The name itself draws inspiration from Bayonne in the French Basque Country, a cue HMIL links to distinctive character, dynamic spirit and Hyundai’s global design philosophy.
