GRB Puts Soan Papdi at the Centre of Imperfect Celebrations

GRB Dairy Foods has given the classic Soan Papdi a fresh job: a small, everyday fix that turns imperfect moments into shared celebrations. Its new musical campaign, ‘Life-eh Soan Papdi’, launched on October 10, 2026 across the brand’s official YouTube and Instagram channels.

01 · The campaign

Instead of grand festive sets or perfect family portraits, the television commercial leans into relatable hiccups. One sequence follows a girl who receives an unfavourable exam result and still finds a sliver of happiness. In another, a family’s birthday cake burns—so they place a candle on a box of Soan Papdi and celebrate anyway.

Both scenes land the same idea: celebrations do not always need to be planned or perfect. A small gesture of sweetness is enough to make an ordinary moment memorable.

02 · Why this matters for brand leaders

This is everyday-occasion marketing at work. GRB is not asking consumers to wait for Diwali, a wedding or a grand birthday. It is inserting Soan Papdi into the small, unpolished moments that households actually live through—the bad result, the burnt cake, the unplanned get-together.

For CMOs, the logic is worth noting. A low-involvement, impulse-friendly product usually struggles to earn a distinct emotional role. By pairing it with real, slightly awkward situations, GRB makes the product feel useful, warm and memorable without overclaiming.

03 · The range behind the message

The campaign stars a multi-flavour Soan Papdi range that gives the brand room to show up across different occasions and taste preferences. The listed flavours include:

  • Elaichi
  • Chocolate
  • Pineapple
  • Butterscotch
  • Orange
  • Mango
  • Coconut

That spread lets GRB position the product for family gatherings, get-togethers and festive occasions without being locked into one flavour or one type of event.

04 · What marketers can take from it

The creative strategy is a useful one: find the “burnt cake” in your category. Most brand films chase flawless moments; this film makes the flaw the story. The product then becomes the pivot that saves the mood, not just a prop on the table. Think of the product as the mood turner, not the centrepiece—the burnt cake is the tension, and the Soan Papdi box is the release.

Balakarthik Balasubramaniam, Director, GRB Dairy Foods, puts the thinking simply:

Not every occasion needs to be planned or perfect; sometimes, a little sweetness is enough to make it memorable.

The marketing lesson is sharp: a small product can own a big emotional territory when the creative starts from a believable, less-than-perfect truth.
