Kolkata, September 2026: Flipkart has rolled out ‘Kothaye Jaabe Dada?’, a Kolkata-only activation that ties its Big Billion Days sale to BBD Bagh — the city’s old Dalhousie Square hub that still stamps countless bus routes. Select buses running to and through BBD Bagh now carry sale creative, so the initials shoppers already shout on the commute double as the country’s biggest shopping festival.
Bus tickets become pocket media: Big Billion Days offers plus QR codes passengers can scan mid-ride. The move lands Flipkart’s festive line ‘Luck Badal Sakta Hai, Yahan Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’ on Kolkata’s iconic blue-and-yellow fleet — local culture first, national sale second.
A companion film follows a Kolkata bus conductor from his first day on the BBD Bagh route through years of calling “BBD! BBD!” across the streets. Comic beats show how the cry becomes muscle memory — until Big Billion Days reframes it: BBD is no longer just a destination, but a cue for festive deals, offer-led tickets, passenger banter and route-style announcements.
The film was conceptualised by Talented, with production by Calm Kaam.
Marketing take: Flipkart isn’t dropping another pan-India celebrity spot — it’s hijacking a city acronym that already lives on the ticket. When the brand name and the bus stand share three letters, OOH writes itself; Talented just had to make the conductor’s shout mean shopping season.
