~ Zydus Wellness moves the classic Complan Boy from ad character to a 15-year-old India debutant — with ‘Thoda Plan, Thoda Complan’ still in the frame ~
Mumbai, September 2026: Complan has rolled out ‘India ka Complan Boy’, a digital campaign that puts cricket prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at the centre of one of Indian advertising’s longest-running kids-nutrition equities — shifting the familiar figure from a cartoonish brand character to a real young achiever.
The film tracks Sooryavanshi’s preparation and milestones rather than inventing a fictional hero. At 15, campaign material positions him as the youngest cricketer to debut for India in international cricket, with a maiden T20 half-century against Zimbabwe in July already on the scorecard. Ambition, discipline, family support and nutrition sit under the brand’s long-running ‘Thoda Plan, Thoda Complan’ line.
Tarun Arora, CEO and Whole Time Director, Zydus Wellness, framed the refresh as equity evolution, not nostalgia: “Brands stay relevant when they continue to evolve with the people they serve. At Complan, we have a distinctive legacy of celebrating children who dream big, and today’s generation is dreaming in new and different ways. Vaibhav represents that evolution beautifully. His journey is a story of ambition, preparation, perseverance, and family support. These values have always been at the heart of Complan. With ‘India ka Complan Boy’ we are refreshing a much-loved brand equity and bringing it into the lives of a new generation in a way that feels authentic to them.”
Sooryavanshi made the house connection personal: “Playing in the IPL and getting the opportunity to represent India at such a young age is something I feel very grateful for. I know I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn. Whatever I have achieved so far has only been possible because of the support of my family, coaches, and teammates. We are three brothers who have grown up with Complan in the house, so becoming ‘India ka Complan Boy’ feels really special. I hope it encourages other children to dream big, work hard, and always remain grounded.”
The push is led by a digital film that treats everyday preparation — not just the podium moment — as the real story behind the record book.
Marketing take: Most nutrition brands rent a celebrity smile. Complan is betting that a living prodigy can reboot a decades-old equity without rewriting the homework line parents already know.
