Mumbai, September 2026: Cetaphil (Galderma India) has put a familiar bathroom moment under the microscope with ‘The Stretch’ — a campaign that challenges the idea that a tight, squeaky-clean face after washing equals a job well done. The brand’s argument: that stretchy “khicha-khicha” feel many Indians treat as proof of cleanliness can instead signal lost hydration and a disrupted skin barrier.

At the centre is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and the brand’s TLC Action (Target, Lock, Connect) approach — a formulation stack of Niacinamide, Panthenol and Glycerin designed to cleanse while holding hydration and supporting the barrier from the first wash. Creative is from Dentsu Creative Isobar.

Viju Nair, Business Unit Director, Consumer & E-commerce, Galderma India, said: “’The Stretch’ started with a very simple observation: millions of people experience this sensation after washing their face, but very few stop to ask what it actually means. We wanted to challenge the idea that tightness equals clean skin and bring the conversation back to what science tells us about hydration and the skin barrier. What has been interesting is seeing the insight travel beyond the campaign and become part of the larger conversation around gentle cleansing.”

Cetaphil, with more than 79 years in the category, leans on a science-backed credibility stack — over 1,100 clinical studies and tests across 49,000+ subjects — and its claim as India’s No.1 Dermatologist Recommended Brand, backed by more than 1 crore dermatologist prescriptions over 15 years, according to the brand.

Marketing take: ‘The Stretch’ isn’t a product demo — it’s a habit rewrite. By turning an unexamined post-wash sensation into a category conversation, Cetaphil moves gentle cleansing from soft claim to insight-led differentiation.
