Airtel Safe Report turns blocked threats into a personal dashboard

01 · What launched

Bharti Airtel has added a personal security dashboard called Airtel Safe Report inside the Airtel App. Built with creative agency Fundamental, the feature is free, needs no additional download, and gives every subscriber an individualised view of the scam alerts issued, unsafe links blocked and OTP fraud warnings delivered on their number.

02 · From network defence to visible proof

The report is the latest visible layer of a network-level security push that has been running since 2024. Most telecom security work happens where customers cannot see it. Airtel has now turned those interventions into an account-level record.

  • 2024: Airtel began AI-powered screening of spam calls and SMS across 250 parameters.
  • 2025: The operator extended the system to restrict malicious web URLs.
  • Early 2026: It added real-time warnings to prevent OTP theft when banking credentials arrive while a user is on a call.

03 · The campaign film

A release film directed by Sanjna+Rohan and produced by Emotion Pictures supports the rollout. Pallavi Chakravarti, founder and CCO of Fundamental, frames the move as a brand acting instead of passing vigilance to consumers: “getting down in the trenches” rather than “preaching and advising caution from an ivory tower.”

04 · Why this matters for brand leaders

For CMOs, Airtel Safe Report is a case study in making defensive utility visible. Instead of claiming protection, the brand names it, personalises it and shows the record. That turns a retention feature into a trust asset, and gives customers a concrete reason to believe network security claims.

The broader takeaway: invisible infrastructure becomes marketing only when it is reported in terms the user recognises. A dashboard that says “what we blocked for you” is more memorable than a campaign that only warns people to be careful.

05 · What to do with this

Brand teams in telecom, banking and fintech should audit their existing safety and service actions. If you already block fraud, filter spam or warn users, consider turning that activity into a named, personal report. Keep it inside the app customers already use, avoid extra downloads, and let the numbers—not the warnings—carry the message.

The next test will be engagement. A security report is useful once users know it exists and check it regularly. Airtel’s campaign needs to drive discovery, but the product itself will decide whether visible security becomes an everyday habit.
