~ From Tomato Saar to artisanal modaks, Air India turns Mumbai and Delhi lounges into a Maharashtrian festive table for 11 days ~
Mumbai, September 2026: Air India is marking Ganesh Chaturthi with a Maharashtrian Food Festival across its lounge network in Mumbai and Delhi, folding regional flavours, street snacks and festive mithai into the pre-flight experience rather than leaving festival marketing on the tarmac.
From 14 September 2026, guests at the Air India (Adani) lounge in Mumbai get an authentic regional menu spanning Tomato Saar, Mumbai Masala Sandwich, Khamang Kakdi, Veg Kolhapuri, Bharli Vangi, Masale Bhat, Shevgyachi Amti, Malvani Fish Curry and Kombdi Hirwa Masala, plus day-long street favourites such as Misal Pav, Sabudana Vada, Kothimbir Wadi, Thecha Paneer Tikka, Rawa Fish Fry, Bread Cutlet and Matar Karanji.
For 11 days from the same date, a festive mithai run leans into classics — Ukadiche Modak, Puran Poli, Karanji, Mango Kalakand, Dry Fruit Wheat Halwa — and a contemporary modak flight in flavours including Gulkand, Kesar, Orange Chocolate Butterscotch, Sugar-Free Dates & Dry Fruit, Ragi Nutty, Carrot Creamy and Berry Cheesecake. The celebrations also extend to the Delhi International Maharaja Lounge.
The airline frames the push as hospitality with cultural heft: bringing Maharashtra’s most cherished festival into lounge touchpoints so guests taste devotion, community and regional craft before they board — part of a wider bet on authentic Indian cuisine and cultural stories across the guest journey.
Marketing take: Festive brand plays often stop at a film or a hashtag. Air India is buying sensory equity — putting Bappa’s table inside the lounge so Maharashtrian hospitality becomes a lived brand moment, not a caption.
