Mumbai, September 2026: Navneet Education has put a small phone-book habit under the microscope for Teachers’ Day. Its new film, “Save as Tr.”, under the ongoing Tr. for Teachers initiative, calls out the everyday shorthand that reduces educators to subjects — Maths Sir, Science Teacher — and asks families to put the title Tr. before a teachers actual name.
The insight is familiar to anyone who has scrolled a school WhatsApp group: years of shaping careers, and the contact still reads like a timetable slot. Navneet’s film frames that erasure as the quiet cost of a noble job — students carry the achievements; the teacher’s personal identity slips behind the subject label.
Devish Gala, President of the Educational Books Division at Navneet Education, said the brand wanted to reverse that habit in the smallest personal way possible. “While teachers give their students an identity, their own names slowly fade into the subjects they teach. SaveAsTr.’ is our attempt to reverse that… We want to take this conversation beyond a single day of celebration and turn ‘Tr. into a permanent part of how students and parents interact with educators every single day,” he said.
The ask is deliberately shareable: open the phone book, rename the contact, keep the respect after the greeting cards are gone. For a stationery-and-learning brand that has spent years standing with teachers including personalised Tr. kits for educators — the film extends that recognition from a one-day salute into a daily naming practice.
