~ Inshorts turns its news feed into a clue hunt for Prime Video’s The Traitors Season 2 — cat, dagger, cloak and shield as tap-to-unlock teasers instead of a bolted-on banner ~
Mumbai, September 2026: Inshorts has rolled an interactive app takeover for Prime Video’s The Traitors Season 2 that treats the news scroll like a crime scene. As readers swipe through stories, animated symbols from the show’s world — a cat, a dagger, a cloak, a shield and the series logo surface inside the feed. Tap one and a teaser tied to that clue unlocks. The pitch is blunt: stop interrupting the read; make the brand something you choose to find.
That format maps to the show’s own grammar. The Traitors is built on concealment, so discovery is the natural door. Rather than a standard display unit competing for a glance, Inshorts built a hunt that only opens when someone taps — participation baked into the product habit of catching up on the day’s news.
Concealment as media plan
“The Traitors is built on concealment, which made discovery the natural way in. We built the campaign, so it had to be found — symbols surfaced within the feed, with the story opening only when someone chose to tap. The format had to be made for the idea; a standard placement couldnt have carried it, said Rohan Dixit, Associate Director, Brand Solutions at Inshorts Group.
“Digital reach is abundant; genuine attention is not. People open Inshorts with the intent to catch up on what’s happening, so a brand arrives in a moment of active reading rather than competing for a passing glance. That environment is what lets creativity invite participation instead of interruption. This campaign was built on exactly that — an experience people had to choose to explore, said Mohammad Patel, Regional Sales Head – West, Inshorts Group.
Why it matters for brand buys
The move sits inside Inshorts’ wider sell: high-intent reading moments, contextual placements, and creatives designed around how people already use the app — not creatives forced into a feed that was never built for them. For marketers watching CTV and short-form clutter, the Traitors takeover is a clean proof point that interactive, idea-led formats can still earn a tap when the product and the property share the same tension: hide, seek, reveal.
