Mondelez Brings Biscoff Cookies to India in Partnership with Lotus Bakeries

Biscoff Arrives in India’s Premium Cookie Aisle

Mondelez International has officially launched Biscoff cookies in India through a strategic partnership with Belgium based Lotus Bakeries. With this move, Mondelez strengthens its presence in the country’s fast growing premium cookie segment while giving Indian consumers direct access to one of the world’s most loved caramelised biscuits.

For the first time globally, Lotus Bakeries has chosen to partner with another company to produce Biscoff locally. Mondelez India will manufacture market and distribute Biscoff using its expertise and retail network.

A Global Collaboration with Local Ambition

Dirk Van De Put, chairman and CEO of Mondelez International, calls the collaboration an important step in building a stronger play in premium cookies. He says the brand will introduce millions of Indians to Biscoff unique flavour and unforgettable crunch.

Jan Boone, CEO of Lotus Bakeries, outlines a clear global ambition: to make Biscoff the world’s number three cookie and a truly global brand. He calls India vital to this vision and trusts Mondelez for its success and market understanding.

Strengthening “Make in India” and Snacking Leadership

Through this partnership, Mondelez reinforces its “Make in India” commitment by producing Biscoff locally rather than importing finished packs. The company aims to lead the snacking category across price tiers formats and occasions alongside Cadbury and Oreo.

Samir Jain says Mondelez will use its distribution marketing and insights to make Biscoff a preferred cookie in Indian homes.

Wide Availability and New Consumption Occasions

Biscoff cookies will be available in five pack sizes starting at Rs 10, making the brand accessible to a wide range of consumers. Mondelez will place the product in modern trade stores general trade outlets and online platforms for easy access.

Beyond retail, the company will partner with hotel chains, airlines and coffee houses to serve Biscoff alongside hot beverages, tapping into the cookie’s global association with coffee. Mondelez will work with quick service restaurants to launch Biscoff desserts in sundaes and shakes.

A New Chapter for Premium Cookies in India

With Biscoff now part of its India portfolio, Mondelez adds a globally iconic cookie to its existing snacking line up. Lotus Bakeries and its partner combine global brand strength with local scale to drive premium cookie growth.
