This Diwali, BHIM Payments App has launched the second edition of its annual campaign, #MeethiDiwali, running from October 1 to 31, 2025. Unlike traditional festive offers that focus on discounts, this initiative transforms digital payments into a force for empowerment, directly supporting women-led artisan businesses across India.
Turning Digital Payments into Purpose
The #MeethiDiwali campaign invites users to make ten or more transactions on the BHIM app during the festive period. Every transaction becomes more than just a payment—it contributes to uplifting women entrepreneurs who are keeping traditional crafts alive.
By integrating Aspire For Her as a partner, the campaign ensures that digital transactions directly support the EntrepreNaaris—women artisans striving to scale their businesses. The initiative positions BHIM as not just a digital payments app, but a brand that aligns technology with social good.
Empowering Women at the Grassroots
Lalitha Nataraj, MD and CEO of NBSL, emphasized the emotional depth of the campaign:
“Diwali is a time when families celebrate and share joy, and with Meethi Diwali we aim to add purpose to that spirit each year. By choosing to pay with BHIM, users are not only enjoying a simple, secure payment experience but also helping women artisans and entrepreneurs translate their skills into sustainable livelihoods.”
Similarly, Madhura DasGupta Sinha, Founder & CEO of Aspire For Her, added:
“This initiative empowers artisan EntrepreNaaris to earn, grow, and shine brighter than ever before, building the women’s economy in India, from the grassroots.”
Through these collaborations, the campaign shines a light on sustainable growth and inclusivity during one of India’s biggest festivals.
A Festive Film with a Message
To bring the idea to life, creative agency SoCheers conceptualized a heartwarming festive film showcasing how small actions—like digital payments—can create a big social impact. The film highlights stories of women artisans, reinforcing that every purchase and every payment adds a layer of purpose to Diwali celebrations.
Mehul Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of SoCheers, explained the creative vision:
“When we came up with the idea of #MeethiDiwali2025, we wanted to highlight BHIM’s inherent values of trust, security, and reliability and how technology can actually empower lives in a meaningful way.”
Building Trust and Brand Purpose
The campaign also reflects BHIM’s consistent brand values of security, reliability, and simplicity, while extending its positioning to include social responsibility.
Ashwini Kamat, Senior Vice President at Mediabrands, summarized it perfectly:
“This initiative not only strengthens BHIM’s role as a trusted digital payments brand but also reflects its commitment to a larger cause—empowering women artisans through Aspire For Her.”
Marketing Takeaway
The #MeethiDiwali campaign is a powerful reminder of how brands can integrate social impact into seasonal marketing. By turning everyday digital payments into opportunities for empowerment, BHIM builds deeper emotional connections with users while reinforcing trust.
With #MeethiDiwali 2025, BHIM Payments App shows that Diwali can be more than lights and celebrations—it can also be about uplifting communities. By empowering women artisans, the campaign proves that digital payments can fuel both convenience and change.
