Our score: 7/10 · Royal Stag, “Celebrate the Large in Everyone”

Verdict: A smart festive participation idea extends the brand platform, but the AI tool carries more weight than the film.

What works

  • Turns the brand line into a personal action
  • Rohit Sharma adds instant festive reach
  • Generative AI gives people a reason to share

What misses

  • The film feels like a wrapper for the AI activation
  • Personalisation claim depends on template quality

The lesson: If you have a brand line, give consumers a tool to act on it instead of just watching it.

01 · The ad

Royal Stag has launched its festive campaign, ‘This Festive Season, Let’s Celebrate the Large in Everyone,’ created by Dentsu Creative WebChutney. The film is anchored by cricketer Rohit Sharma, with actors Rahul Dua and Maanvi Gagroo alongside him. Around the film sits a generative-AI activation: consumers can build personalised video greetings co-starring Rohit Sharma and send them to people who bring energy to their gatherings. It is a festive-season play that pairs celebrity reach with a direct invitation to participate.

02 · What works

The strongest decision is turning a brand line into a user action. Royal Stag has long pushed India to ‘Celebrate Large’; this campaign gives that thought a personal expression. Instead of simply showing a celebration, it hands consumers a reason to create one for somebody they know. Rohit Sharma gives the film instant recognition, and adding Rahul Dua and Maanvi Gagroo keeps it from becoming a solo celebrity spot.

The generative-AI layer is equally well aimed. It converts festive sentiment into shareable content, extending the campaign beyond paid media. The brand stops being something people watch and becomes something they use inside their own relationships.

03 · What misses

The film itself is thin in the telling. The launch details describe the AI mechanic more than the story, so the craft is hard to judge. That is not fatal, but it does suggest the spot is a vehicle for the activation rather than a memorable film in its own right.

AI personalisation is also a promise with a trap. Consumers will expect genuinely different, tightly matched greetings. If the output feels templated, with only a name swapped in, the word ‘personal’ will work against the brand. The campaign lives or dies on the quality of the tool, not the charisma of the film.

04 · The verdict

Royal Stag earns a 7 out of 10. The strategy is sharp and the festive timing is right, but the work leans on the activation more than the ad. This is a participation product wrapped in a film, not a film that happens to have a participation extension.

05 · The lesson

A long-running brand idea becomes stronger when consumers can perform it themselves. Royal Stag does not just ask people to celebrate large; it gives them a tool to make someone else the star. That is a useful festive model: give the line a behaviour, and the viewer a reason to send it forward.
