Wipro Hands 9-Brand Social Mandate to OML's Hypothesis

Wipro Consumer Care has appointed Hypothesis, the creator-marketing agency from Only Much Louder (OML), to run social media and influencer marketing for nine of its brands — Safewash, Softouch, Maxkleen, Giffy, Glucovita, Sweet ‘n’ Healthy, JO, Chandrika and Soundarya. It’s a portfolio-level consolidation built on a deliberately local brief.

01 · The mandate

Hypothesis takes on creative strategy, content development, social media execution and influencer marketing across all nine brands. The brief asks for brand-specific content matched to each product’s positioning, consumer need and regional preference — with the goal of building stronger connections in every market.

02 · Shared planning, separate voices

This is the tension every multi-brand marketer faces: how do you centralise for efficiency without flattening what makes each brand distinct? Wipro Consumer Care’s answer is a common agency partner that coordinates planning and execution across the portfolio, while each brand keeps control of a communication strategy tailored to its own audience and market.

Ravindra Ramavath, senior general manager of marketing at Wipro Consumer Care, puts it this way: the brands serve “different consumer needs across markets,” so the content has to reflect that. Content should show how products fit into consumers’ everyday lives and stay consistent with each brand’s identity. Devarshi Shah, chief growth officer at OML, argues that relevant content starts from local culture and how consumers relate to each brand.

03 · Why brand leaders should pay attention

Indian FMCG marketers are rediscovering that regional relevance is not a nice-to-have. A fabric-care brand and a nutrition brand don’t need the same tone, the same creators or the same content calendar. One partner with a shared mandate brings planning discipline and audience insight; distinct briefs keep each brand’s voice alive.

  • Consolidate the agency relationship for coordinated planning and shared learning.
  • Keep every brief brand-specific: positioning, consumer need and regional preference first.
  • Brief creators to demonstrate everyday product use, not to chase vanity reach.

For CMOs, the model is portable. The next time you review an agency roster for a multi-brand business, ask whether the efficiency is coming from the partner or the playbook. If all brands read the same, you’ve saved cost and spent equity.

04 · The takeaway

Scale is an operating model, not a message. Wipro Consumer Care is betting that nine brands can share a partner without sharing a personality — and that’s a discipline worth copying.
