Poonawalla Fincorp's 37-day festive push turns loans into dreams

Poonawalla Fincorp has bundled a Diwali brand film, regional activations and a rewards calendar into one 37-day festive property called ‘Sapno Ka Celebration’. The campaign runs from 10 October to 15 November and spans four loan categories, treating festivals as the moment people commit to long-held aspirations.

01 · The story

The hero film, ‘Turning Every Aspiration Into a Sapno Ka Celebration’, follows a father and daughter on Diwali night. She is anxious about whether her rocket will fly; he reassures her and helps launch it. As she cheers for it to climb higher, a loan approval notification appears on his phone. The product is not the plot. It is the quiet enabler behind a promise to a loved one.

The film then widens the frame from one family to households across India, closing on the idea that when lakhs of families see their dreams fulfilled, Diwali shines brighter. That is the brand’s #EnablingDreams philosophy in action.

02 · Built for local moments

The campaign is not a single national film. It is designed as a festive property with radio, metro and city-corridor branding, cabs, promotional vans, partner-dealer outlets and branches, supported by local micro-influencers. In eastern India, it shows up around Durga Puja. In western markets, it is part of Navratri and Garba. Multiplex advertising around Dussehra and Diwali film releases adds a final burst.

That structure lets the brand keep one message while matching the cultural calendar of each market, useful for financial marketers whose products rarely feel local.

03 · A rewards layer that asks for participation

The campaign attaches incentives to four loan categories:

  • Consumer Durable Loans: a car worth INR 7.5 lakh, a bike worth INR 1.5 lakh and a INR 50,000 travel voucher, plus daily and special-day rewards.
  • Gold Loans: daily and special-day rewards, a INR 1.5 lakh bike, and one INR 10,000 winner per participating branch.
  • Personal Loans: daily vouchers and bumper prizes, including a Smart TV, a mobile phone and an Amazon voucher.
  • Commercial Vehicle Loans: a festive lucky draw with daily vouchers.

The rewards are participation-led, which turns a brand film into measurable activity during the season.

04 · Why it matters for brand leaders

Financial services campaigns often default to rates and features. Poonawalla Fincorp inverts that order. The film leads with a kept promise; the loan is a notification, not the climax. Rewards and regional placements then make the emotional story usable at the point of purchase.

For CMOs, the campaign is a compact template: one hero story, multiple local hooks, and a clear participation mechanism. The risk is execution, keeping the message consistent across Durga Puja, Navratri and Diwali while managing a rewards programme across branches.

Marketing take

Anchor finance to an emotional promise first, then use regional activations and rewards to convert festive attention into action.
