Bigbasket Launches Ad Campaign Featuring Karisma and Kareena Kapoor

Bigbasket, India’s leading online grocery delivery platform, has unveiled an exciting new advertising campaign featuring the iconic Kapoor sisters, Karisma and Kareena Kapoor, together for the first time on screen. Conceptualized by the creative agency Talented, the campaign includes three dynamic short films that incorporate the sisters’ famous past performances, blending nostalgia with Bigbasket’s innovative promise of quick deliveries.

A Nostalgic Twist with the Kapoor Sisters

The campaign consists of three short films, each drawing inspiration from the Kapoor sisters’ iconic Bollywood roles. In the first film, Kareena Kapoor performs a memorable tongue twister from one of her famous movies. The second film showcases Karisma Kapoor’s well-known dance move and features a creative double role. The third film has the sisters singing together—without any post-production dubbing, marking a fun and new challenge for them. These references tap into the nostalgia of fans who have adored their earlier roles for years.

Sharing their experience, the Kapoor sisters said, “Revisiting some of our iconic avatars together was joyfully nostalgic. Rarely do we feature in the script. We can shake a leg, but singing was a new experiment for us! 20-second ads are nothing like movies, and we too were challenged with ‘quick deliveries’ in our performance.”

Kapoor sisters represents a strategic shift for Bigbasket as it continues to evolve its communication and brand messaging. Raagaleena Sripada, Marketing Head at BigBasket Retail, said the campaign highlights Bigbasket’s 10-minute grocery delivery promise. She said Karisma and Kareena help connect with a wide audience and highlight the service’s speed, ease, and reliability.

Bigbasket aims to tap into the cultural relevance of the Kapoor sisters, making the campaign resonate with millions of consumers who are already familiar with their iconic roles.

Aarushi Periwal and Krisha Kakad from Talented, the creative agency behind the campaign, shared their perspective: “Karisma and Kareena don’t just live in our memories; they are part of our GIFs, stickers, and Saturday night dance moves. Casting them together felt like unlocking something that was waiting to happen. We combined Bigbasket’s promise of 10-minute delivery with shared nostalgia, letting the sisters step back into their iconic roles. The result was 20 seconds of content that stayed with you long after watching it.”

The films successfully capture a mix of humor, nostalgia, and relatability, engaging viewers while promoting Bigbasket’s fast service.

What’s Next for Bigbasket’s Campaign?

After successfully launching the first three films, Bigbasket will continue featuring Karisma and Kareena Kapoor in the campaign across digital and TV platforms. The brand also plans to release a fourth film with the sisters later this year to further reinforce its message.
