TechnoSport’s Pujo film turns preparation into momentum
TechnoSport's Durga Puja campaign mines the pre-festival build-up with Bengali narration, linking local preparation to its Designed for Momentum platform.

01 · The campaign
TechnoSport has released a Durga Puja film that starts before the festival begins. Built on the Bengali thought Maa Aschhe. Boshe Thaki Ki Kore? — Maa is coming, how can we possibly sit still? — the film links Kolkata’s pre-Pujo preparation to the brand’s Designed for Momentum platform.
The storytelling is intentionally local. Fast-paced cuts and Bengali narration follow the preparations: neighbourhoods being cleaned, pandals being put together, people lending a hand. It closes with Maa Aschhen. Cholte Thako! — Maa is coming, keep moving.
02 · Why the run-up matters
Festival advertising tends to arrive on the main day, when every brand is shouting at once. TechnoSport chooses the days before, when the community effort is most visible and the mood is one of momentum. For an activewear label, that is a sharper fit than a generic festive greeting: preparation, movement and forward progress are the product’s own language.
Durga Puja is one of India’s most visible urban festivals, and its build-up is a story in its own right: neighbours, artisans and volunteers move in sync to get the city ready. TechnoSport makes that preparatory energy the film’s subject, rather than the final idol or the pandal reveal.
CEO Puspen Maity says the team wanted to celebrate that shared effort with warmth and respect. He positions the East as an important market, and the film arrives as the brand expands its retail presence in eastern India. That makes the campaign a creative asset and a regional growth signal at the same time.
03 · What brand leaders can borrow
- Mine the anticipation: the run-up to a festival is emotional, physical and visual, and it is often less cluttered than celebration-day media.
- Keep it in the market’s language: Bengali narration signals that this was built for the East, not dubbed for it.
- Close on a product truth: ‘keep moving’ turns a festive line into a brand platform.
- Pair the story with distribution: the film does more work because it coincides with eastern retail expansion.
04 · The takeaway
TechnoSport’s Pujo film is not a pandal decoration; it’s an argument that the brand understands momentum. For CMOs, the sharper festive opportunity may be the week before the big celebration, not the celebration itself.
