BGMI’s Soch Kum Khel Maximum removes the skill excuse
BGMI and 22feet launched a four-film campaign on 12 October 2026 that reframes skill anxiety as the real barrier to play.

Battlegrounds Mobile India’s new campaign, launched on 12 October 2026 in Mumbai, takes aim at an invisible competitor: the moment a player decides they are not good enough to start. Created with 22feet, part of Omnicom Advertising India, the work carries the line “Soch Kum, Khel Maximum” — a nudge to replace hesitation with a tap.
01 · The insight: readiness is the real gatekeeper
Krafton India’s BGMI product management and marketing director, Srinjoy Das, says the franchise has spent the year building modes and maps that are “extremely easy to pick up and play.” The creative aligns with that product reality: no schedule, no squad, no prerequisite skill.
02 · Four films, one comic contrast
The campaign runs as four humorous films that pair overthinking with what 22feet executive creative director Shyam Nair calls “spectacularly questionable life decisions.” The idea: life has plenty of choices worth a second thought; playing BGMI is not one of them.
Nair adds: “You shouldn’t need a gaming resume to join your friends for a game of BGMI.” That one line reframes the entry barrier from skill to social permission, and it gives brand leaders a mental picture worth borrowing.
03 · Why it matters for India’s brand leaders
Most gaming marketing in India still leans on competition, kills and leaderboards. That speaks to the already-committed player. BGMI’s pivot targets the fence-sitter who watches friends play but worries about dragging the squad down. It is a penetration play: widen the top of the funnel without changing the product, only the story around entry.
This is also a behaviour-change move. In Fogg’s model, behaviour needs motivation, ability and a prompt. The campaign raises perceived ability by saying readiness is not binary, and it prompts with social scenarios. It does not promise esports glory; it promises that getting good can happen along the way.
- Four films contrast overthought everyday choices with the simple yes of joining BGMI.
- The sell is casual: solo or squad, quick session or longer, no skill resume needed.
- A digital layer will ride real-time conversations, viral moments and relatable “questionable decisions.”
04 · What to do with it
If your category has a silent objection — “am I qualified to buy this?” — look for the everyday situation where customers already give themselves permission. Use that contrast. BGMI’s execution works because it does not educate; it releases pressure. The films will be amplified across BGMI’s Instagram platforms, with the digital phase designed to attach the idea to ongoing internet conversation.
The marketing take: when hesitation is the competitor, market the ease of starting, not the glory of mastering.
