~ JioStar drops a crossover promo with Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa and Mohanlal as Bigg Boss Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam open on the same day — four languages, four houses, one countdown.
Mumbai, September 2026: JioStar has timed a rare cross-market promo to today’s simultaneous premiere of Bigg Boss across four South editions — Tamil 10, Telugu 10, Kannada 13 and Malayalam 8 — bringing hosts Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa and Mohanlal onto one screen ahead of the shared launch on JioStar linear channels and JioHotstar.
The short film leans on a playful food mix-up drawn from each host’s home state, then lands on the line “Four languages, four houses, one countdown.” The idea is simple: keep each edition’s cultural flavour intact while selling the scale of a single South premiere window.
“Each of our four hosts has a very distinct equation with his audience, and that relationship is an important part of what makes Bigg Boss so powerful in every market. This promo gave us an opportunity to bring Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa and Mohanlal together in a way that is fun, rooted in the cultures of the South and true to their personalities,” said Krishnan Kutty, Head, Entertainment (South), JioStar.
On air, the split stays regional: Star Vijay (Tamil), Star Maa (Telugu), Colors Kannada and Asianet (Malayalam), with all four also streaming on JioHotstar. The shared date sits inside a wider festive push that also sees Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20 in the same window — turning September 6 into a franchise takeover day rather than four separate launches.
Marketing take: Simultaneous premieres are usually a scheduling flex. Pairing them with a host-crossover promo turns the calendar into creative — one asset that stitches four fan bases without flattening four brand worlds.
