KISNA’s 9KT Film Turns a Kidnap Ransom into a Gen Z Diamond Budget Chat

~ KISNA’s humour-led 9KT film turns a dimly lit ransom den into a jewellery-budget chat — real diamonds, real gold, surprisingly approachable prices for Gen Z ~

Mumbai, September 2026: Fine jewellery still feels like a stretch purchase for a lot of young India. KISNA Diamond and Gold Jewellery, the flagship brand of the Hari Krishna Group, is answering that with a quirky, product-led film series for its 9 Karat Diamond Jewellery line — and the latest chapter uses an absurd kidnapping gag to argue that real diamonds and gold don’t have to cost a kidney.

The film opens in a dimly lit den: a young man bound and gagged while two kidnappers prep a ransom call to his father. The menace collapses into comedy when they pause to haggle over how much to demand — one admits he really just wants a gold pendant, and the captive fires back, “Bhai, mere liye?” What starts as a hostage negotiation turns into a jewellery-budget scroll as he points them to KISNA’s 9KT range on their phone. Prices land softer than expected, intimidation flips to excitement (“Yeh toh bada mast hai, bhai”), and the captive breaks the fourth wall: Jab KISNA ki 9 Karat Gold Jewellery ho, toh itne papad kyun belne?”

The closer lands the proposition hard: “9 Karat diamond jewellery. Surprisingly affordable!” followed by the brand line “Khushi ke har pal ke liye KISNA.” The idea is simple festive-season maths — an elaborate crime for jewellery that’s already within reach is the joke; accessible first diamond / self-purchase / gifting is the sell.

Gen Z entry point, festive timing

KISNA is positioning 9KT as the on-ramp for Gen Z and younger buyers who want real diamonds and gold with contemporary design, without a big-ticket sticker shock. The brand’s newer Rakhi-leaning 9KT pieces are also being talked up as versatile looks priced below ₹20,000 that can live on as pendants after the festival.

Parag Shah, CEO, KISNA Diamond and Gold Jewellery, said: “For many young consumers, fine jewellery can still feel like a big-ticket purchase. Our 9KT Diamond Jewellery brings together real diamonds and gold, contemporary designs and trusted craftsmanship at more approachable price points. Through this campaign, we are challenging that perception with humour and a language that feels fresh and relatable, while staying true to our philosophy of ‘Khushi ke har pal ke liye KISNA’.”

Launched in 2005, KISNA says it now runs through 1,500+ shop-in-shop outlets and 120+ exclusive showrooms across India under the broader “Har Ghar KISNA” vision. The humour films are framed as the start of a longer youth series — more quirky, product-first stories meant to keep 9KT in the festive conversation without preaching price.
