833 Micro Creators Drive 400M+ Views for Motorola

For Flipkart’s Big Billion Days this year, Motorola chose a different weapon against festive ad clutter: 833 micro creators. Working with agency Idiotic Media, the smartphone brand built a creator-led campaign that crossed 400 million views and drove 1 million direct link clicks to sale pages on Flipkart.

01 · Why micro creators won festive trust

During India’s festive sale window, discount banners and price graphics blur into noise. Micro creators, by contrast, speak in regional languages and show phone features in real-life situations. Motorola’s bet was that a trusted creator feels like a friend, not an ad, and that trust could carry viewers all the way to a purchase.

02 · A creator mix built for the funnel

Idiotic Media split the 833 creators into roles, each aimed at a different job:

  • Viral and entertainment creators carried reach: Instagram delivered 55.69 million views and YouTube 50.58 million, with Bandar Apna Dost alone pulling 49.56 million YouTube views.
  • Giveaway creators generated engagement: 10 creators produced a 1.89% engagement rate and 32.81 million views.
  • Tech creators built product proof: 250 Instagram tech creators and 50 YouTube tech channels explained details such as the Moto Edge 70 Fusion at ₹29,999, with Techdevendra crossing 6.94 million views.
  • Fashion and lifestyle creators placed phones in everyday style, with Dilli Ki Fashionwali recording 10.55 million YouTube views.

03 · What the numbers delivered

Beyond the 400 million views, the campaign generated 3.31 million engagements and added over 250,000 new followers across Motorola’s social channels, including 140,000 during the 10-day peak sale window. The one million link clicks were the sharper proof: social buzz translated directly into shopping action.

“We put micro-influencers and creative storytelling at the heart of our strategy,” said Girish Kumar, Brand and Marketing Lead at Motorola.

04 · The playbook for festive campaigns

The results point to three repeatable lessons. Build a category-wise creator mix rather than spreading budget evenly. Let the product fit the story naturally instead of reading a script. And use interactive, share-worthy content to turn seasonal deal hunters into long-term brand advocates.
